The Carmelite Monastery was founded in 1908 to provide a place for solace and spirituality in Northern California. Inspired by the Carmelite Monastery in Boston, this site is a great example of Spanish-ecclesiastical architecture. Peaceful shaded walkways with benches scattered throughout the property and a beautiful garden provide a perfect environment for quiet meditation. The Carmelite Nuns hold a daily Mass at 7:15 a.m. and Sunday Mass at 10:30 a.m. The monastery and garden are located east of Santa Clara University, west of Steve Carls Park.
